Stands for Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus, a ‘splain-o-tainment book written by Dr John Gray, that purports to tell you why you can never understand your significant other. It was published in 1992 but already feels like it’s describing another culture in another world, gender relations and identities are evolving so fast.
In some ways, I feel like the relationship between the sexes is careening toward the world of Ancillary Justice, a space opera written by Ann Leckie in 2013, which is the only novel to ever win the Hugo, Nebula, and Arthur C. Clarke awards. I wrote about this book before (here) but liked it so much that I’ll mention it again.
